Daniel Ansari, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Psychology and on the Faculty of Education at Western University in Ontario. He has more than 20 years of experience working in higher education and leading research teams. In the Numerical Cognition Laboratory at Western University, he explores how children develop numerical and mathematical skills and strives to understand why some children struggle in this area.
Ansari has served as the president of the International Mind, Brain and Education Society. He is the Director of the Centre for the Science of Learning at Western University. He has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Ansari is a member of the College of the Royal Society of Canada, and is a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.
Ansari earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Sussex and a master of science degree in neuroscience from the University of Oxford. He earned his doctorate of philosophy degree from University College London in child health.
