Lakrisha Howard has been an educator for the past 12 years. She has worked with exceptional learners, advocating for and teaching special education, inclusion, and resources. She currently teaches in the Newark Public Schools.

Howard has held a number of leadership roles, including vice principal and new teacher coach. She has supported teachers’ career development as an adjunct professor in education, through professional development initiatives, and as a coach through Blue Engine. Additionally, she helped create videos for Google to support those who learn and think differently. 

Howard holds a BS from Rutgers University and a master’s from the Relay Graduate School of Education. As an expert for Understood, she writes about ways to support students who learn and think differently.
